I am a freelance writer with a strong desire to inform and entertain the public, especially through lifestyle stories and book reviews. My professional experience largely comes from having worked as a journalist and PR specialist, including in women’s health and wellness, and exploring my passion for books and fiction writing.

From book reviews to conference workshops, this is a sample of some great projects I’ve recently been part of:

Project Lead – Women in Media Relaunch Project

I’ve had the pleasure of running this six-month return-to-work program for female media professionals, comprising of 10 online workshops and 17 delegates. In partnership with the WiM Board, I actively developed the curriculum, and sought and managed 30+ speakers including high-profile media personalities, executive professionals and niche specialists.

Book club reviews – ABC Gold Coast. Mornings with Sarah Cumming

I currently have the joy of being the weekly on-air book club reviewer for ABC Gold Coast, offering insights into commercially popular books, as well as sharing what’s new to the book market.

Author interview and articles – CelebrityKind

Extending on my interest and knowledge of commercially popular books and writing, I’ve worked with CelebrityKind, co-hosting an author interview for their podcast and creating ‘list style’ articles about books.

Workshop hosting – various clients

I’ve recently had the honour of creating and running workshops at large conferences including a session on ‘Social Media for Authors’ at Fiona McIntosh’s National Conference, and ‘Relaunch Your Career’ for the Women in Media National Conference.

Like all good journalists I first cut my teeth in a regional newsroom in Townsville. The allure of big city lights, however, was too strong and I began shaping my professional career in the busy landscape of Sydney. Here’s a little run down of my past professional roles:
